The first edition of the Vantage Point Endurance Training Camp is being held in the heart Austin, Texas.  The camp is packed with training sessions and clinics designed for triathletes and runners of all levels, who are looking to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to elevate their potential for long term growth and performance.  In this fun environment you will pick up expert advice, learn to improve technique, and make lasting friendships and experiences that will last a lifetime.

We provide our camp attendees with a balance of informative, intimate, relaxing, and challenging experiences.  The 3-day Run camp and 5-day Tri camp are led by experienced and knowledgeable coaches. NEW 3-day Tri Camp just added!! More details coming.

Activities

At the camp, athletes will receive hands-on coaching and be given the best conditions to train in their specific disciplines. There will be two daily training sessions that are held in the mornings and afternoons. These sessions will not only include on-site training, but also be followed up with discussions about related topics to your sport as well as other clinics and activities.

One of the crown jewels of Austin – Barton Springs Pool. The pool itself measures three acres in size, and is fed from underground springs with an average temperature of 68-70 degrees, ideal for year-round swimming. Each triathlete will have their stroke video taped and appropriate drills will be given to help improve their stroke.

The runners will also get to enjoy the pool during their aqua-jogging session.

Vantage Point Endurance has put together several bike rides throughout the camp to work on several key factors in a triathletes training.  The workouts could include hilly terrain, hard intervals,  and long endurance rides in the Texas Hill Country.

All Triathletes will experience the new Stac Virtual Wind Tunnel.  Each athlete will be scanned for their wind tunnel assessment.  The scans will be sent to Stac and their expert engineers will report back with their evaluations and recommendations.

Attached is a report from Professional Triathlete Lauren Brandon.  Lauren Brandon Stac Report

Vantage Point Endurance has strategically picked the accommodations to be right on the run trails of Austin.  VPE will cover all aspects of road and trail running during this camp.  The camp runs will include both road and off-road running, no technical running skills required.

Vantage Point Endurance has reserved a private group yoga session for all athletes during their training camp.

Various seminars will be held each day for the athletes to enjoy some down time but also get to engage with the coaches and learn about the various aspects of the sports.

Accommodations

Cool, rough-hewn limestone, broody nights, tactile elegance, and comfort all make Native the first experiential hostel bringing the house party and hospitality under one moonlit roof. Honoring our roots, our now, and our future, the charred rafters of the past play roughly alongside the silky elegance of dark plasters, glass, and cool steel.

Rooms are bunk style with shared bathrooms. Rooms will sleep 4-6 people.

If you do not want to stay at the Hostel, you can make your own accommodation reservations for the stay.  Runners will receive $60 off the camp fee and Triathletes will receive $120 off the camp.

Athletes will not be able to take advantage of the free breakfast at the hostel.  They will also have to organize their own rides during the camp to the various locations.

At this time, we are not offering individual single sessions. Once we get closer and know our headcount along with coach to athlete ratio we will let you know what options and sessions are available. Please email if interested.

Will there be coaches on the bike rides and runs? Will I get left behind? 2017-12-31T20:25:42+00:00

We have planned for different groups based on abilities on the bike and run. We will plan to have 1 coach for every 3-4 athletes on the bike rides. Based on the type of running workout as well as location of our runs we will arrange more coaches to be present as needed.
